STARS

STARS (Special Tactics and Rescue Service) is a branch of the police force that serves as a response team against bio-terrorism, though the unit was originally a terrorism branch of the police, frequent incidents involving the viral agents produced by companies such as Tricell, Organization, and Umbrella have lead to the group's specialization in solely handling the biological agents created or used by these organizations.

The group is distinct from the force's command chain, taking orders directly from the organization head and the organization head taking orders from no one but him or herself. STARS is often hated by regular military or police force units which regard them as arrogant pricks who make up monsters to hunt on a regular basis. Only when the team is called in to clean up the hellish nightmares that do indeed come true do they receive respect from individuals or groups.

STARS is used as a sort of training organization, prime members of the team being picked out by the government to serve as their agents and handle more dangerous bio-terror threats such as the trading of B.O.W. and research into more powerful viral agents in remote areas. All STARS members are given a yearly analysis on their skills, mental stability, personality, close combat skills, fire arms skills, and reasoning ability to determine if they are fit to be a government agent.

STARS members travel in groups of three in various teams including the Alpha and Beta teams. Due to the danger involved in this occupation, only the finest of the police force are chosen to be STARS members, and above all else, STARS members are required to complete the mission. Completing the mission at the cost of comrade's lives is a very common thing, and members are expended to do this if it is necessary.

STARS trains its members in knowledge of the following which are available knowledge skills for the unit (All STARS members must have at least 3 from this list):
- Knowledge: T-Virus
- Knowledge: G-Virus
- Knowledge: Infected, Common
- Knowledge: Crimson Heads
- Knowledge: Lickers
- Knowledge: Plagas
- Knowledge: Ganados, Common
- Knowledge: Manjini, Common

Umbrella

An inconspicuous pharmaceutical company whose fame has reached a level that it has become a household brand, many medicines manufactured and sold originating from the company's stores and being created by Umbrella's scientists. Unknown to the world, however, the company has taken to earning extra funds through the creation of dangerous viral agents which were created for the innocent purpose of reanimating the deceased loved ones of customers. It was intended to be a surprise break-through, the virus making them rich nearly overnight, however, the virus was incapable of acting as intended, only bringing to life an unintelligent corpse with basic motor skills and a satanic hunger for human flesh.

Most companies would've flushed the project with such horrible results, but the money hungry executives instead turned towards using their new creation, the research was continued, and terrible creations such as T and G Virus were churned out by the company. They found a new market to sell their viruses on, the black market, making biological weapons out of their viruses and selling them to the highest bidder. They quickly found themselves in competition however when a Tricell agent working in the company stole a sample of their base Progenitor virus and gave it to them, enabling Tricell to enter into their business territory.

Umbrella and Tricell have been at each others throats ever since, both of them desperately trying to expose the other to the outside world for what they truly are without exposing themselves. Umbrella is the more powerful of the two companies, but Tricell is stable enough to compete with the medicinal giant. In order to compete, Umbrella has begun to churn out more powerful bio-organic weapons (B.O.W.s) and has become less picky about its buyers.

Numerous failed experiments are left behind in research centers where it is safer to contain them after Umbrella wipes their traces from the center. In some cases, STARS agents have responded and tried to snag whatever bits and pieces they can while fighting Umbrella's experiments, but to this day they have yet to leave behind so much as a trace. However, their blunders have caused both STARS and the government to develop vaccines against their viruses, making it easier to clean up after them.

The Organization, a group cloaked in shadows, has taken these vaccines and begun to reverse them, granting them access to the very same viral powers as Umbrella, as well as they have found out the secrets to Tricell's B.O.W.'s and are making good use of these as well. Rumors exist that Organization is trying to combine the two into a deadly viral agent that could easily overpower Umbrella and Tricell B.O.W.'s and put them both out of the market.

Umbrella workers have access to the following knowledge skills:
- Knowledge: Umbrella, Level 1
- Knowledge: Umbrella, Level 2

Free-Lance

Not everyone whose encountered the troubles created by the viral competition of the three companies, and even civilians who manage to survive such incidents are not always whisked away by the government or asked to join STARS. There are a handful of people who have either departed from STARS, Umbrella, Tri-Cell, The Organization, or the government and are actively avoiding them all. Others are simply victims of 'incidents' and have chosen to act as a sort of bio-terror vigilante. Still others attempt to control the viruses and agents put out by the organizations, or attempt to assimilate themselves with them in order to gain greater power for whatever end it is that drives them.

There are hundreds of ways a civilian can come to be aware of the biological war that is occurring all around them, beyond the normal person's comprehension. The motives are greatly varied, the conditions, the history, and just about everything else about them. Free-Lance individuals have no specific knowledge of any of the things around them, they must instead obtain their information on their own since they have no organization to obtain it from.

Though it is generally assumed characters know about the viruses and agents and the biological warfare occurring, this need not be the case, and those completely ignorant of the situation may also be considered a Free-Lance agent. Free-Lancers are often hunted down by all other organizations since they lack ties to a group, they could easily release their information to the public, making them a threat. Attempts have been made, but they are never taken seriously, or the speaker finds themselves dead before they are able to utter a word.

Free-Lancers are capable of joining other organizations, though leverage is often needed and trust is hardly ever present, but their is good reason to not trust a newcomer who is aware of your workings without actually being a part of your organization.

Each Faction is able to admit as many members as it wants to, though there are limits in place about where these new members go. There can be only one person in charge of a Faction, though that person may delegate their responsibilities out as they see fit to, and the rest of the members of the organization can be as numerous as desired.

Umbrella and STARS both receive an organizational payment of $2,000 x Number of Members, to spend on equipment for those within their organization and on missions. This payment is weekly so the funds will return and can also be spent on research into better technologies, which namely applies to Umbrella's potential to research stronger viruses and create new ones. Both organizations can invest in purchasing research facilities to speed up production and with enough funds they can purchase whole countries.

The details of these sorts of things are still in the works, so they are barred during the BETA testing period of the site while everything is being balanced out properly. For the present, factions are allowed to spend money on missions and equipping themselves, all other alternatives are presently barred.

All factions are run through the Staff for the BETA testing portion so no leaders are to be appointed until the site exits BETA so please be patient.
