Approval Process

Though it may seem redundant the most frequent questions asked on a forum are about approval, so it is fitting that something be posted up about how this is done, how long it usually takes, why its done, and other misc. questions that have been known to come up.

Step 1: Go to the character template thread, click and copy the whole contents of the coded area, and save it to your clipboard (most computers will do this automatically when you press the copy button so its nothing additional.)

Step 2: Go back a page until your back at the Bio Storage board. Locate then 'New Topic' button on the bottom left. Click on it. On the top line where it says 'Subject' type in your character's name, followed by your faction, followed by: WiP. WiP stands for Work In Progress and tells the Staff not to look at your topic for evaluation until it is completely finished unless there is some glaring error we feel you should be alerted to.

Step 3: Paste the contents of your clipboard onto the third area, the really big one with lots of fancy buttons above it and smilees to the left of it. Once you've done this, it should be filled up with lots of words and coding, don't touch the coding. Only type where you see paranthesis, and remove the paranthesis when you type there. Those are guidelines about what to put in that spot.

Step 4: Fill out all the necessary information, if you need to stop and finish later, just press the post bottom at the bottom of the screen. You can resume your work later by returning to the topic and pressing the edit button in the upper right. If you want to see what your topic looks like so far, press preview.

Step 5: When you've filled out everything, please remove the WiP form the subject line and make a new post that says 'Completion Bump.' That will let us know that you've finished and that you want to call it to our attention.

Step 6: Staff will come and post regarding what you have on your character application. Answer all questions you are asked, change things you are told to change, and try to avoid arguing with the Staff over things because in most cases they know what they're doing. If its a misunderstanding, try to explain as best you're able. This will go back and forth, usually for three or four days, but ranging anywhere from one hour to three weeks depending on how much needs to be changed.

Step 7: A Staff member will deem your work acceptable and post 'Approved' or something to that extent. Once this is done the application will be sent to you via PM, both in readable format and in code so you can copy and paste information from the app as is neccesary. The physical copy will be moved to a board where it cannot be seen by anyone besides Staff and a Staff member will repost what should be public knowledge in the appropriate board for your character.
